About Dr. Hammond...
Dr. Hammond is a licensed psychologist, specializing in child, adolescent, and family therapy. She maintains a private practice in Valrico, Florida. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Florida. She received her master's and doctorate degrees, with a Child and Adolescent Concentration, from the Florida School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University - Tampa campus.
Dr. Hammond has worked with numerous children, adolescents, and families in many settings, such as a shelter home, medical hospital, community mental health center, psychiatric hospital, and public school systems. Her approach is to customize therapy to fit the needs of the client. At times, a cognitive behavioral approach or interpersonal approach to therapy can be utilized, depending on the treatment goals. Dr. Hammond is also trained in play therapy and currently uses play therapy as one modality of treatment for children and some teens.
In her spare time, Dr. Hammond enjoys community outreach activities, yoga, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She also keeps current on research related to her psychological evaluations and therapy services.
